DILAPIDATION SURVEYS AND REPORTS
We Are Leaders In The Field
A Dilapidation Survey and Report by HardHat Media has the potential to:
A dilapidation report is an accurate video and/or photo record of the state of a property at a particular point in time. The report records any existing damage, and shows – in photos and videos – the state of any properties that are likely to be affected by planned construction work, including excavation or demolition.
HardHat Media’s dilapidation reports are carried out by our experienced personnel and include high resolution photographs, videos and location diagrams, as well as text describing what can be seen in the photos. These provide an accurate record of the state of the neighbouring buildings or areas before works commence.
Dilapidation reports may help prevent the lodgement of spurious claims from owners of nearby property, and may also support genuine claims for damages arising from construction work. Dilapidation reports should never be overlooked when commencing a project.
They provide a record of a property’s condition before construction begins; a follow-up report can also be made once the works have been completed.
Builders, contractors and developers may be blamed for causing damage to third party and neighbouring properties, when often that damage was pre-existing. Obtaining an independent dilapidation report from HardHat Media, prior to the commencement of your work, means your company will have the original photographic record that can be used to defend against any claims for damage should they arise.
Most often, simply showing them our report will be enough to protect your company’s reputation and avoid disputes with neighbours or local authorities.
Our experienced team will record, using high-res photos and videos, the condition of various properties prior to construction works commencing. We will compile a report showing photographic records of the current condition of buildings, roads, etc, showing both pre-existing damage and undamaged areas, and describing the observations.
If damage is noted to your property after the construction or demolition starts, our Dilapidation Report will help you get the damage repaired or support any potential claim for costs to repair it. Alternatively, if you are the company undertaking such works, this could protect you from spurious claims of damage for which you were not responsible.
A detailed report will be assembled with photographic evidence of pre-existing damage, as well as showing undamaged areas.
Reports can contain just high-res photos, or optionally video and drone imagery, as well as photo location plots and a description of damage – or lack of damage – shown in the photos.
