A dilapidation report is an accurate video and/or photo record of the state of a property at a particular point in time. The report records any existing damage, and shows – in photos and videos – the state of any properties that are likely to be affected by planned construction work, including excavation or demolition.
Hardhat Media’s dilapidation reports are carried out by our experienced personnel and include high resolution photographs, videos and location diagrams, as well as text describing what can be seen in the photos. These provide an accurate record of the state of the neighbouring buildings or areas before works commence.
Dilapidation reports may help prevent the lodgement of spurious claims from owners of nearby property, and may also support genuine claims for damages arising from construction work. Dilapidation reports should never be overlooked when commencing a project.
They provide a record of a property’s condition before construction begins; a follow-up report can also be made once the works have been completed.
